Movie Game, Processing + Audio Input
Based on the premise of creating a movie that reacts to audiences yelling at the screen, Karaoke Cinema creates a game out of the joy of re-watching popular films and asks audiences to scream, clap, and yell at their favorite movies. Classic films are comedically re-editing to allow for audience to play along with the plot.
Playing Karaoke Cinema Presents: Thelma & Loiuse the audience is asked to help the main characters jump the grand canyon and escape the police.
In Karaoke Cinema Presents: Scanners the audience plays David Croneberg’s classic head-exploding scene which has been re-edited into a high score game.
The project uses live microphones, edited film footage, and Processing to create interactive films which allows the audience to take control. Karaoke Cinema is about the love of movies and empowers the audience to enjoy the films by sharing their enthusiasm together.
